We are happy to keep you informed!

Professor Don Jacob welcomes all visitors and members to the Purple Dragon website!!!! We are happy to keep you informed!! We feel very excited about this year’s (2008) future because of the success we achieved last year!!!!  We invite you to become or remain as a member by going to the dojo locations on this website to find a Purple Dragon school in your neighborhood.    

In 2007 we broke unbelievable records, set higher standards and brought many of our schools and large teams from around the world together for the first Canadian Grand Slam organized by Sensei Daniel Jacob with support from Sensei Amber Murphy. Please look out for our Canadian Grand Slam DVD launching on April 16 at a cost of US$59.99 which includes shipping and handling.

Purple Dragon has also produced many other successful events at home and abroad. We invite you to be a part of this success by e-mailing us at prof@wow.net. Purple Dragon has opened two new branches expanding our network to Mississippi and Georgia, U.S.A. thanks to Inst. Chris Coxall and Chrissy Harrington. We are very motivated, excited and encouraged about the direction that Purple Dragon is taking its instructors and members.  We also take this opportunity to thank and welcome our thousands of new members around the world to the Purple Dragon family.

Purple Dragon is proud and excited to announce to our supportive members that we have now upgraded to our own brand name.  Products bearing the Purple Dragon brand name are uniforms, uniform tote bags, safety equipment, water bottles, key chains, wrist bands, pins and medallions.  We invite all our branches around the world to fully support our products!

We cannot begin to tell you, our members, how very thrilled we are about this year’s calendar of activities. 

2008 Cayman Islands Grand Slam Championship on July  5th!

 The 2008 Cayman Islands Grand Slam on July  5th which will be hosted by Sensei Floyd Baptiste and Sensei Geddes Hislop.  many countries have already confirmed:-

 You can join in and get started by doing the following:-

1.        Remember the date is July 4th-5th

   2.       Have your valid travel documents ready 

  3.     Call Sensei Floyd Baptiste at 1-345-946-1241 and/or email him at purple@candw.ky so he can send you and your team a registration package. 

   4.       You must contact The Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa at 1-345-945-3800 or visit their website at www.westincasuarina.com to book and secure your early hotel reservations for you and your team before their cut off date.  Mention the Purple Dragon tournament to get your special rate of US$149 per night.

           5.     All Purple Dragon Black Belts from around the world are invited to attend the special training and business seminar in the Cayman Islands on July 4th. It is vital to attend so you can become a certified referee and judge which gives you more international recognition.  You will also be qualified to assist us in the 2010 World Tournament in Trinidad and Tobago.  Upon completion of the seminar a beautiful participation certificate and your judges’ hand book will be presented to you.

Remember every one of you must be there!!!!!

Introducing Purple Dragon's Newest Black Belts

They are from the # 117 Testing

 Purple Dragon has accomplished yet another successful Black Belt exam.  Fourteen (14)candidates from two countries successfully participated and attained their black belts  in the 117th Black Belt Grading. 

 We call on all Purple Dragon countries to organize the usual victory training for the following candidates at their branches on behalf of their tremendous success.  The THEME for that grading was “Aiming and Positioning For Success”.  The next Grading will be held on in August 2008.  Again limited spaces are available so apply on behalf of your students early.

The First Aid and C.P.R. Course for all Purple Dragon Black Belts and Instructors got started on & will continue unto March  23rd - 23rd. There will only be twenty five students per class for a duration of eight hours.  

Please contact your Purple Dragon branch for price details and to ensure that a space is secured for you.  The course is mandatory for all Purple Dragon Black Belts sixteen years and over especially the Purple Dragon Branch Operators.  Parents are also welcomed to inquire.

This is a certification course.  The company conducting the course is H.H.S.L Safety Systems Limited.  Local students can call 1-868-675-1688/1-868-623-7203 to make reservations. International branches:- the course will be conducted in your country by one of your local First Aid  or C.P.R. organizations.

*The first part of the First Aid and C.P.R Course on February 17th was completely sold out and was successfully completed !  one of the presenters was our own, Sensei Garson Bingaman. Successfully completed.

*The second part of the First Aid and C.P.R Course on February 24th has been also totally sold out. Successfully completed.

*The third part of the First Aid and C.P.R Course on March 16th has been also totally sold out. Successfully completed.

*The forth part of the First Aid and C.P.R Course on March 23rd was also totally sold out. Successfully completed.

March 1st 2nd:  Professor Don  Jacob  attended as a special guest of honor  at Sensei Albert Andrew and Inst, Candia Fischer tournament in Miami, Florida. March 15th: Shihan Anthony Thompson  hosted his 5th open Karate Tournament,  at the Maloney Indoor Sports Complex. Successfully completed.

March 28 - March 30:  Black Belt grading #117 was  held in Trinidad at World Head Quarters.  Successfully completed.

April:

April 1st - 5th:  Professor Jacob  conducted grading nationally in Trinidad and Tobago in Barataria Headquarters and ending in our sister isle of Tobago.   Successfully completed.

April 8th: Aikido Grading was hosted at World Headquarters  Trinidad.  It  started at  730-830 pm. Successfully completed.

April 21st - 30th: Professor Jacob is visiting and personally conducting classes at several Purple Dragon locations in Trinidad and Tobago. 21 branches has to be completed and the tour is in now progress.   Successfully completed.

May 25th /June11th:  Grading & Seminars  will start in the US, Canada and Cayman Islands.

June 1st:   The usual Black and Brown Belt training with Professor  Don Jacob at World Head Quarters in Trinidad, will be taught by another senior master in the absence of Professor Jacob.

June 21st: Shihan Neal Hewitt and the Combined Forces Dojos of Belmont, Diego Martin and Carenage  will host the 5th open karate championships at the Jean Pierre Sports Complex , all school are invited.

June 23rd-28th:   National Grading in Trinidad and Tobago is scheduled. It will be held in Tobago on Saturday 28th June for Sensei Rosemary Thomas.

July:

July 2nd:The Trinidad and Tobago Purple Dragon Karate leaves to for the Cayman Grand International Karate tournament, the team will return to Trinidad and Tobago on the 7th and 8th July. families ,friends and fans are welcome to great the teams at the Piarco Airport and the Tobago branch at the Crown Point Airport on arrival. Once the itinerary is available members can have the departure  arrival information.  

July 26th:   Purple Dragon certification awards for 104  Instructors, students and parents that took the C.P.R.  and First Aid  course, venue to be announced shortly.

 August:

August 1st-3rd  Black Belt grading #118 will be held at Purple Dragon  World Headquarters in Trinidad. 

August 23rd: Sensei Wendell Small  will host the 7th open karate championships at the Pleasance Ville Indoor Sports Arena, all school are invited.

September:

September 22nd - 28th:  National Grading in Trinidad and Tobago is scheduled. It will be held in Tobago on Sunday 28th  September for Sensei Rosemary Thomas.

October:

October 16th - 21st: The celebration of Professor Jacob's 54th Birthday started from October 16th to 19th he will conduct a power packed nonstop 24-hour learning seminar from 2pm 18th-October to 2pm 19th October. 

October: Sensei Amber Murphy  will host her Purple Dragon tournament in Canada, and may have Sensei Derrick Timothy as her guest instructor . date to be announce

October: Shihan Johnny Madrid will host his Purple Dragon tournament in Queens NY. date to be announce

December 8th- 13th: National Grading in Trinidad and Tobago is scheduled. It will be held in Tobago on Saturday 13th  September for Sensei Rosemary Thomas.

December 15th:  Professor Jacob will conduct year end Grading in Antigua for Sensei Don Francis and Sensei Ivan Rodriguez . He will be accompanied by a Sensei to be announced.

December 18th: The tots and kids year end party and belt changing ceremony will be held at the various Dojos in Trinidad and Tobago. 

December 20th  Adult party, location to be announced

December 20th: The Headquarters Dojo clean up will be  conducted and all members from Purple Dragon  Barataria branch please give your usual assistance.
