Trinidad, I went to the Purple
Dragon Queens New York Branch to
train with Shihan Johnny Madrid,
when I was on holiday from school.
I was treated like a Queen, I am
looking forward to returning to
Purple Dragons Queens
and other Purple Dragon
Branches around the world.

Good
day Professor Don,
This
message is sent from an unlikely
source. Before I reveal who I am; I
wanted to start off by saying I took
my son to a new Martial Arts school
that recently open in my new home
(United State of America). The
state and city is: Massachusetts,
city of Boston, town of Dorchester.
While I was there for the
introduction class to see if my son
would enjoy the school. I notice a
very large flag of my original place
of birth (Trinidad and Tobago)
hanging up high. I asked the
question who is from such a
“powerful island” and was then told
the Sensei who teaches. I then saw
a plaque of “Don Jacob” with a brief
history of how he got started. It
was every informative and
motivating.

I am?

of Eldon (Abdul) De Freitas. I
believe I saw you once of twice
growing up. I’m very impress with
the school, and just wanted to say
excellent work on putting Trinidad
on the map.

I have been a member of the Tampa,
Florida Purple Dragon for about four
months. I want to tell you that
your message to the students and
guests at our last grading was
excellent. We need to continually
teach by example to our children and
grandchildren the right and
honorable way to conduct ourselves.
I began my Martial Arts
journey at age 55. I
appreciate the patience and
excellent teaching of Senseis
Gary and Clara and instructors Scott
and Max and other instructors and
sans at our Dojo.
Their
encouragement keeps me coming back
every class. You have encouraged
me to not give up my training at
Purple Dragon and to invite others
to join us. It is a privilege to
train with my eight year old grand
daughter Kayla Coryea I

Professor Jacob, Yet another
brilliant talk at the grading in
Arima. I wondered how many really
heard you (including my very own
dragon). Your wisdom is always
delivered with your own brand of
humor. It is truly your destiny to
do the work you are doing. The word
destiny has "tiny" in it. There is
nothing tiny or small in your
achievements. Thank you for your
inspiration.

Our first encounter with Purple
Dragon was at a tournament in Port
of Spain. We were captivated
by the skill and discipline of the
Purple Dragon students, whose ages
ranged from five to sixty-five.
Professor Don Jacob took the floor.
The mastery of his art form, his
charisma - and seemingly simple but
deadly maneuvers were awesome and
infectious. We were also
encouraged and comforted by the
presence of elders, such as Sensei
Reid, and other Senseis such as
Sensei Timothy; besides teaching the
skills, often share their life
experiences with the children,
helping to keep them focused and
aware of social realities.
We therefore had no hesitation in
enrolling our children into Purple
Dragon. As the months went by,
the Don Jitsu Ryu System became
exposed to us. The ethos of
the Purple Dragon Kun, which
encourages the individual to surpass
himself and achieve excellence,
echoes our personal mantra.
Added to the psycho-social benefits
of the system, the physical
challenges cannot be underscored.
The Don Jitsu Ryu System is dynamic,
creative, and productive.
Our children are among the A Class
students in their respective
schools, and their discipline is
noted. We endorse and
recommend the Purple Dragon Don
Jitsu System to all, especially
